Webshop increases sales by 30% due to Ship Advisor – QWT

Since car accessories dealer QWT had the Ship Advisor web service solution installed in its web shop, sales in the web shop have gone up by no less than 30 per cent.

Built into the web shop, the service allows customers to choose freely from freight and delivery alternatives, focusing on for instance, cost, swift delivery or delivery at home, at work or at another collection point. Furthermore, the customer can calculate the exact freight rate and time of delivery.

“We wanted to offer our customers more alternatives in terms of freight and delivery at sensible rates. Each product is weighed and measured, and the rates from the different carriers are calculated directly in the web shop before the customer pays. We should make a profit on the products – not the freight”, says Kim Bruland at QWT.

All 150,000 items in the web shop have been read into a database, and now the web page takes care of calculating the right freight rate. This rate also depends on how soon and where the customer requires delivery. The customer chooses the time and place in the web shop before paying.

“We don’t know whether our enormous increase in turnover is due to the correctly calculated freight rate, the many delivery alternatives or perhaps a combination. But we’re happy to be able to provide our customers with a service that they appreciate”, says Kim Bruland.

QWT offers a wide variety of spare parts, accessories and car styling products, which are very popular among people who want “a little extra” compared to what the most well-known car accessories shops offer. QWT sell their products throughout Norway, and their delivery service includes both cities and local communities in the countryside. Their web page allows every customer to find a delivery point close to home or have the products delivered at home. This depends on how much you are willing to pay!
